Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 138

Chapter : Reuniting with Bach and the Knights at the Sky Castle

Winter vacation had come to an end.

Between dungeon explorations and my mother and little sister coming over to check on the remodeling progress, it had been a rather busy time.

The renovations on the neighboring house had been safely completed, and my mother told me to air it out from time to time.

I planned to use the spirits’ wind magic to blow away the dust. That would handle the ventilation too.

Misuzu-san and I returned to our student lives.

However, her beast familiars and my spirits both required mana essence.

My spirits had leveled up, and the mana essence from the mountain dungeon was no longer enough.

So, after talking it over with Misuzu-san, we decided to head into the dungeon every Saturday.

Our first destination was the Sky Castle on the first underground floor.

At the castle’s front gate, Bach and Rubinstein were there to greet us.

“We have been expecting you,” Bach said, and everyone bowed their heads in unison.

At first, it was overwhelming, but lately, I’d gotten used to it.

After greeting the high-ranking wind spirit, we gathered in my room.

Bach reached into a dimensional space and drew out something black.

“Takumi-sama. The scabbard for the Holy Sword has been completed.”

“Bach, thank you!”

I’d have to thank Kuromitsu as well later for providing the scales.

I accepted the scabbard and sheathed the Holy Sword.

Strangely enough, the scabbard’s shape shifted to fit the blade.

What’s going on here?

As if reading my mind, Bach explained, “This scabbard has been endowed with a size-adjustment function.”

So that’s why the shape changed.

“May I ask about your plans for today?”

Misuzu-san replied, “We’re thinking of exploring the eighth underground floor!”

“Understood.”

“Then, would you care for some tea before your departure?”

“Takumi-san, what do you think?”

“Well, since it’s offered, why don’t we?”

“Let’s take a break before heading out. We’ll probably have to walk quite a bit from the Transfer Hall between the fifth and sixth floors.”

“Yeah, good idea!”

When we sat at the table, Bach began preparing tea.

Aria brought out teacups and left the room.

Just as Bach finished pouring, Aria returned with a tray carrying chocolate cake.

Apparently, Tchaikovsky had made it in the kitchen.

Not only was Tchaikovsky skilled at cooking, but also at baking bread and making sweets.

With delicious tea and cake before us, the trip already felt worthwhile.

After resting, we finally set out for the dungeon.

“Then, I shall open a Transfer Gate,” Bach said.

…Transfer Gate?

What’s that supposed to be?

“Um… what exactly is a Transfer Gate?” Misuzu-san asked.

“Misuzu-sama, you needn’t use honorifics with us,” Bach replied, then continued his explanation.

“We are able to connect the place we currently stand with another location we have previously visited.”

“Since you mentioned you had already reached the seventh floor, I went ahead to the eighth floor in advance, so that you may travel there at any time.”

“Furthermore, we can also link a Transfer Gate to wherever our master, Misuzu-sama, happens to be.”

“With this, we can rush to your side whenever danger arises!”

I see… if Misuzu-san is ever in danger, she can summon them.

“Misuzu-sama, please take this.”

Bach drew a scroll from his dimensional space.

Misuzu-san appraised it.

“Telepathy?”

“Yes. Once you acquire the Telepathy skill, you can converse with us simply by thinking of us, without speaking aloud.”

Misuzu-san accepted the scroll and opened it.

It seemed she had successfully acquired the Telepathy skill.

Bach activated the ability once more.

In the empty space before us, a gate appeared.

He opened it wide.

We stepped through.

“This is the eighth underground floor,” Bach said, bowing his head.

This time, our exploration party consisted of the usual members, plus Bach, Aria, and Dvořák, along with six knights led by Bunin.

The eighth floor of the dungeon stretched out before us like a vast savanna.
