Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 135

Chapter : I summon the knights again.

A thought flashes in my mind.

Wouldn’t it be a good idea if I used the summoning cards to call forth knights and have them defend this castle?

I pull a summoning card out of my pouch and call them forth.

Light particles gather before my eyes, and a knight appears.

Bach lets out an impressed, “Oh~! This is amazing.”

When I look at him, Bach begins explaining.

“These knights are a royal guard who once served to protect royalty in another world.”

“However, when they were attacked by an enemy nation, the castle fell. Their regret at failing to protect the royal family kept their souls from passing on, and they were sealed within their armor.”

“In other words, the armor itself is their body. Inside lies a magic stone that fuels their existence.”

“Then… should we ask the angels to help them pass on?”

“No. They do not wish for that.”

“Their one desire is to protect their master. It would be better to keep them at Takaya-sama’s side.”

“You should give them names and bind them as your retainers.”

“What are their names, then?”

“The knight commander is Rubinstein, and the vice-commander is Bunin,” I answer.

At that, Bach asks, “May I take Commander Rubinstein with me to meet the spirit again?”

When I give permission, Bach leaves the room with Rubinstein.

Some time later, Bach and Rubinstein return.

“Takaya-sama, we have finished discussions with the spirit. They will also aid in defending this castle.”

“We ourselves can wield swords, but we are better at magic.”

“On the other hand, Rubinstein-dono and his men can use magic but excel in swordsmanship.”

“We complement each other well. I believe this will greatly aid in the castle’s defense.”

That was good news indeed.

I go on to tell them about the cave ruled by earth spirits, and the sand castle ruled by fire spirits.

“Understood. We shall pay our respects to Rubinstein-dono there as soon as possible,” Bach says, bowing his head along with Rubinstein.

Then Bach turns to Misuzu-san.

“By the way, Misuzu-sama, what is your relationship with Takaya-sama?”

Misuzu-san’s face slowly turns red.

Then… “He’s my boyfriend…”

“Understood. Then Misuzu-sama shall be designated as the first protection priority. Takaya-sama, you will be the second.”

“Is that acceptable?”

“Yes.”

Upon hearing this, Rubinstein taps Bach on the shoulder.

Bach glances at him.

“The knights say their first protection priority is Takaya-sama, and the second will be Misuzu-sama.”

It seems Bach can understand what the knights are thinking.

Since the knights themselves cannot speak, having Bach interpret for them is a great help.

At that moment, the branch manager, who had been listening, exclaims, “Takaya! There’s no way we can register fully armored knights as adventurers!”

Bach quickly responds, “It will be sufficient if only we are registered.”

“Also, Misuzu-sama, Takaya-sama, in order to coordinate better with the knights, may we conduct joint training?”

When I glance at Misuzu-san, she nods.

“Yes, that’s fine. Just as I said before, don’t trouble the other adventurers, okay?” I answer.

“Of course. We would never cause our master trouble,” Bach replies, bowing together with Rubinstein.

After that, we part ways with Bach and the knights, and head toward the dungeon’s exit.

Parting with the branch manager and the others, Misuzu-san and I arrive a little early for our meeting with Kenta-san, so we relax in the cafeteria on the second floor with some drinks.

“Come to think of it, Takaya-san, tomorrow your mother and Mizuho-chan are coming, so we won’t be exploring, right?” Misuzu-san says.

…What is she talking about?

“Tomorrow is the house purchase contract signing for the place next to yours, with the judicial scrivener and the bank, isn’t it?”

…It is?

As her son, I haven’t heard a single word about this!

What the heck is going on!!
