Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 105

Goblin Extermination Operation — Part 2

After finishing off the goblins in the rightmost nest, I turned toward the next one on the left.

When I arrived, Anemoa was already there, sealing the entrance with a barrier of wind just as I’d instructed.

At my signal, she dissolved the barrier, and the goblins came spilling out of the hole one after another.

“Lupinus, Amber—attack!” I commanded.

The fight was over in mere minutes.

Since Lupinus and Amber were still lower spirits, I wanted them to land the finishing blows. They needed every bit of experience they could get.

Once that was done, we moved on to the next nest.

This time, Freesia had it sealed off with a barrier of light. After I had her release it, Lupinus and Amber went in again, cutting down the goblins as they emerged.

Finally, we reached the last nest. Viola was waiting there, her barrier of shadows cast over the entrance. The goblins inside were helpless, unable to escape the darkness.

“Release it,” I told her.

She complied, and once again, Lupinus and Amber rushed in to finish the job.

With that, all four nests under my responsibility had been wiped out.

I sent Anemoa and Freesia ahead to check on Misuzu. Snow was with her, so I wasn’t too worried—but still, better safe than sorry.

As for Viola, I had her use shadow magic to gather the magic stones from the goblin corpses. Then, with the remaining two spirits in tow, I hurried to Misuzu’s location.

When I arrived, Misuzu was sitting comfortably on a leisure sheet, sipping tea as if nothing had happened. Snow was at her side, as calm and composed as ever.

The spirits I’d sent ahead were perched on a nearby tree trunk, keeping watch.

Looks like she handled things without a hitch. Relief washed over me, and I let out a small breath.

I sat down beside her, and she poured some tea from her thermos into a cup for me.

As we talked, she told me something interesting—Shiratama, who rarely ever left her bag, had come out and put up a barrier around her for protection. Then Snow had stationed herself in front of the nest and taken down every single goblin that came out.

With our mission as Team Sunrise complete, we decided to head back.

On the fifth underground floor of the dungeon, we entered the boss chamber. The floor boss, a Black Wolf, appeared with a menacing growl.

Snow didn’t even flinch. One strike, and it was down. A treasure chest materialized where it fell.

I had Anemoa check it for traps—none.

Misuzu opened the chest. Inside were two potions, which I tucked into the drawstring pouch I carried.

After that, we made our way through the passage and touched the teleport stone, returning to the first floor.

Once outside the dungeon, we went to the meeting room, but it was empty.

So we headed to the branch manager’s office instead.

“You’re telling me you’ve already cleared all five goblin nests?!” he exclaimed, eyes wide.

Then he broke into a grin. “The hotel rooms are still reserved for you. Go get some rest. Good work out there!”

Misuzu and I sent a quick email to Kenta-san, then headed back to the hotel.

The moment I hit the bed, I was out like a light.
