Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 102

Takaya and Misuzu headed to the branch manager’s office to report on their exploration of the fifth basement floor.

After using a Transfer Stone to return to the first floor, we exited the dungeon and went to have our magic stones appraised and sold.

We handed over the bow we had found in a treasure chest, along with the vial retrieved after defeating the floor boss, to the appraiser. Once that was done, we made our way to report to the branch manager.

When we told the receptionist that we wanted to see the manager, she cheerfully replied, “Go right ahead!” and let us through without hesitation.

Lately, it feels like we’ve been getting waved through on sight.

We knocked on the door to the manager’s office. A voice from inside responded, “Come in,” and we stepped inside.

Once we were seated on the sofa, the manager looked at us and asked, “So? What happened this time?”

“We explored the fifth basement floor today,” I began. “As we followed the river upstream, we came upon a large waterfall.”

“A magnificent sight, wasn’t it?” the manager said with a knowing smile.

“Yes! The rainbow was absolutely beautiful!” Misuzu chimed in brightly.

I went on to explain that behind the waterfall, we found a hidden path that led to a vast chamber where earth spirits were sheltering earth fairies.

The upper, mid, and lower-ranked earth spirits had apparently annihilated the monsters that originally inhabited the area and taken it over for themselves.

They gave us the magic stones from the defeated monsters, which we later sold at the purchase counter.

Then, when the spirit defeated the boss monster, a treasure chest appeared—and inside it was a bow.

We were currently having that bow and the potion we found after defeating the fifth-floor boss appraised.

I also reported that I had formed a new contract with an earth spirit, bringing my total contracted spirits to five.

“In that case, it’s your responsibility, Takaya. You’re the spirit handler here,” the manager said firmly. “Make sure to report anything unusual.”

And just like that, the task was pinned on me again.

Well, I suppose it can’t be helped. No one else can see spirits, after all.

The manager also said he’d handle the registration process for my newly contracted earth spirit. Since only those with the Spirit User job can actually perceive spirits, there's no one else who could verify it anyway.

“No one’s going to question it, so don’t worry,” the manager said with a laugh.

Finally, he added, “I heard you made it safely to the Transfer Stone. Congratulations. Once you defeat the floor boss on the tenth basement level, the passage to the eleventh will open. There's a Transfer Stone midway through that passage—make that your next goal. If you get that far, no one will be able to deny that you’re truly an A-rank party. No need to rush though—go at your own pace.”

“Understood!” Misuzu responded cheerfully. “I can’t wait to see what kind of treasures we’ll find next!”

She seemed genuinely thrilled by the prospect of discovering more treasure.

Maybe it’s her latest obsession?

Still, we can’t let our guard down.

I resolved to ask the spirits for their support—so that Misuzu wouldn’t get hurt.
