Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 101

Takaya and Misuzu Defeat the Floor Boss on B5

While Misuzu-san and I were sipping tea and waiting in front of the floor boss’s chamber, a magic circle suddenly appeared on the door.

We watched curiously—and then, to our surprise, four people were thrown out of the portal!

Two men and two women.

…They looked familiar.

Just as I was trying to place them, Misuzu-san spoke up. “Aren’t they the ones from Akebono?”

Ah, that’s right.

They were the party we’d met the other day—the ones we told about the treasure chest at the base of the big tree on B4.

All four of them were in rough shape, battered and clearly injured.

“Are you all right?” I called out, then turned to Freesia and asked her to heal them with her light magic.

As Freesia’s warm glow enveloped the Akebono members, their wounds began to close.

The leader—a man—bowed his head and said, “Thank you for saving us.”

Then, he added earnestly, “We’ll make sure to pay for the healing.”

I glanced at Misuzu-san.

She gave a small nod. “It’s better to handle these things properly.”

“All right,” I said, turning back to the leader. “How about 5,000 yen per person?”

He nodded. “Understood. We’ll transfer the funds from our party account to yours. Would that work?”

“Yeah, that’s fine.”

“In that case,” he said, “please tell me your party’s name.”

“We’re Sunrise,” I replied.

His eyes widened. “You’re the A-rank party, Sunrise?!”

All four of them suddenly stared at us with wide eyes full of admiration, and I couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed.

The leader quickly wrote a note acknowledging the 20,000-yen payment and handed it to me.

I tucked it away and asked, “What happened in the boss room?”

He grimaced. “We challenged the boss… but lost. When that happens, you get forcibly ejected from the room. It was our lack of strength.”

So that’s how it works…

I hadn’t known, since last time we passed through without fighting.

The Akebono members stood tall once again.

“We’ll get stronger and come back,” they said before heading back the way they came.

Once they’d gone, the door to the boss room became accessible.

We packed up our things and stepped inside.

Last time, the boss had materialized from shimmering motes of light after we entered.

But this time, the Boss Wolf was already there—perched on the raised platform at the far end of the chamber.

It must’ve remained since Akebono hadn’t been able to defeat it.

I asked Snow not to get involved—I wanted to use this chance to earn experience for my spirits.

I turned to Viola, who was still a lesser spirit.

“Viola, can you take this one?”

A shadow blade shot out from beneath the Boss Wolf, slicing upward and stabbing it cleanly in the gut.

The wolf let out a silent howl before dissolving into light particles.

A voice echoed in my mind.

“Dark Spirit Viola has evolved into a Mid-tier Spirit.”

Yes! Viola had finally evolved!

Her body was visibly larger than before—stronger.

A treasure chest appeared where the Boss Wolf had stood.

I asked Anemone to check for traps.

She floated over to the chest and examined it carefully, then sent me the feeling: no traps detected.

“Misuzu-san, it’s safe. Want to open it?”

Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she knelt and opened the lid.

“Takaya-san, look! There’s a bottle inside!”

She held it up for me to see.

Just like last time, it resembled a potion bottle.

Last time, we found two lesser potions. This time there was only one—maybe it was a mid-tier potion?

We’d have it appraised later along with the bow. I placed the bottle carefully into my pouch.

With the boss defeated, we made our way to the transfer stone and touched it.

This time, Misuzu-san pressed her right hand to the stone while gently placing her left hand on Snow.

In the next instant, all three of us were safely transferred together back to the first floor.

Misuzu-san let out a small breath of relief.

She was clearly glad that Snow had been able to come along this time.
