Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 35

Nakamori-san’s JOB is Tamer – Part 4

The branch manager sighed deeply before speaking.

“That magic beast is called Fenrir. Only two reports of successful slayings exist worldwide. It’s a rare and powerful magic beast.”

“Is that so? Snow is strong!”

Nakamori-san looked delighted.

The branch manager placed his hand on the desk and began tapping his index finger rhythmically.

Maybe keeping a beat?

As I wondered that, the branch manager looked up at me.

“Hey, Takuya. You had two eggs, right?”

He asked.

I answered that I had entrusted both to her.

Then his gaze shifted toward Nakamori-san.

“The other one is this child! Very timid—hides quickly when strangers are around.”

She opened the zipper of her Boston bag.

Shiratama peeked her head out from the bag.

“The jewel on her forehead is so pretty.”

Nakamori-san said.

Seeing that, the branch manager again pressed his temples.

A silence fell.

“That magic beast is a Carbuncle. Despite being a magic beast, it can use holy magic (light magic), and there are reports it has healed wounds. It also wields powerful barriers. A German explorer party tried to slay one—attacked many times but couldn’t break its barrier, and eventually gave up.”

The branch manager wanted to take photos of the Carbuncle as well.

Nakamori-san took Shiratama out of the bag and placed her on her lap.

The branch manager said he would edit the photos to remove Nakamori-san and keep only Shiratama, then took the pictures.

“What will you two do next?”

The branch manager asked.

“We’ll take her magic beasts and hunt slimes on the dungeon’s first-floor grassland.”

I replied.

“I see…” the branch manager said, looking up at the ceiling.

I wondered if something was troubling him.

We quietly left the room and headed to the dungeon entrance.
