Nakamori-san’s JOB is Tamer – Part 3

On the way, Kenta picked up some party members in the car, and soon we arrived at the dungeon.

Kenta and the others planned to dive into the dungeon right away.

They wanted to earn as much as possible during the high school Golden Week holiday break.

Nakamori-san and I went to the reception desk together.

“How can I assist you today?” the receptionist asked.

“We’d like to register her as an explorer, register the beast contracts she’s tamed, and also register our party,” I replied.

“Understood.”

The receptionist started processing the paperwork.

“What will your party’s name be?”

I hadn’t thought about that.

“What should we call it?” I asked Nakamori-san.

After a moment’s thought, she said, “How about Sunrise?”

“Sounds good!”

We decided on Sunrise as our party name.

As we were about to head to the vast grassland on the first floor to check the abilities of Snow and Shiratama — the beasts Nakamori-san had contracted — a staff member called out to us.

“The branch manager is calling for you.”

I wondered what it was about.

I took Nakamori-san with me and entered the branch manager’s office. The two of us sat down on the sofa.

“So it’s the two of you today?”

He asked, and I explained that we had formed a party.

“You’re Kenta’s sister, huh? Don’t push yourself too hard.”

The branch manager said.

“By the way, I called you here today about Takuya’s explorer rank. We can’t keep someone who defeated a Lich at F-rank forever. I’ve already gotten permission from headquarters to promote you to A-rank.”

He said.

I told him I didn’t want to stand out, but the branch manager was unconvinced.

After some discussion, we settled on D-rank, the same as Kenta and the others.

The branch manager seemed displeased, though…

“By the way, what’s that puppy?”

He asked.

I remembered that the branch manager had told me to report everything immediately if anything happened.

I decided to give the full report now.

He already knew I had eggs.

I explained that Nakamori-san had the Tamer JOB.

That I had entrusted the eggs to her.

And that the eggs hatched into magic beasts, which she named and tamed.

“What a beautiful coat. I’ve never seen such a pristine fur.”

He said.

Nakamori-san looked happy.

“This one seems to understand human speech!”

She bragged.

The branch manager furrowed his brow.

“Mind if I take some photos?”

He asked.

Nakamori-san agreed, and he took pictures.

After fiddling with his computer for a bit, he asked:

“Could that puppy grow bigger?”

“I wonder… Can Snow grow bigger?”

Nakamori-san asked.

Snow barked, “Woof!” and instantly grew into a huge dog.

The branch manager pressed his temples again.

I silently asked Freesia in my mind:

Can you cure the branch manager’s headache?

Freesia shook her head.

Even Freesia can’t fix it…

Then Freesia lightly hit me.

She was in a bad mood.

I silently apologized.

Freesia nodded.

Looks like she forgave me.
