After Shiraishi left, I issued a directive to all branch staff:

"From now on, if Shiraishi ever comes looking for me—let him in immediately, no matter what."

Then, I turned my attention to the report I needed to submit to headquarters.

No one was going to believe that a fifteen-year-old kid in jeans and a polo shirt defeated a Lich alone.

But... the magic stone was right here, in front of me.

There’s no way I can just not file a report.

If it comes out later and they find out I knew and didn’t say anything, they’ll definitely pin the blame on me.

...Which means I have no choice but to write the report in a way that downplays Shiraishi’s involvement as much as possible.
