Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 14

 The Price of Magic Stones

The next morning, I picked up my Explorer Card and gave it a look.

There was a photo on it and a big bold “Rank F” printed underneath.
The picture must’ve been interesting or unusual somehow, because even the spirits were peeking at it over my shoulder with curious expressions.

"Alright, time for another dungeon check today."

When I said that, the spirits seemed to understand instantly.
Anemone, the Wind Spirit, fluttered ahead to take the lead. Behind her floated Freesia, the Light Spirit.
And as always, Viola, the Dark Spirit, was perched on my left shoulder—her favorite spot, apparently.

When we arrived at the dungeon behind the house, I peeked inside.

Same as yesterday: ten regular slimes and one boss slime wobbling around like jelly.
“They really do respawn the same number every day, huh,” I muttered to myself.

I stepped into the dungeon and gave the spirits the usual command.

“Alright, take care of the slimes.”

In a flash, Anemone unleashed a slicing wind blade while Freesia shot a piercing laser beam that tore through the enemies.
Not even a full minute passed before the job was done.

“…Wait, where are the magic stones?”

Just then, Viola pointed silently to a dark corner of the dungeon.
Ah—there they were.

Looks like Viola used some sort of shadow magic to gather them all in one spot for me.

“Thanks, everyone.”

When I said that, I could feel a wave of happiness radiating from the spirits. Their emotions always reached me so clearly.

After heading back home, I packed the gathered stones into a bag.

Earlier today, when I went to complete my Explorer registration, I brought along the stones I’d collected so far to see if they’d buy them.

Regular stones were going for 600 yen each. The boss slime’s stone was worth 800 yen.

At this pace, I’d be pulling in 6,800 yen a day!

If things keep going like this, I might not even need to find a part-time job.

Please, let it stay like this forever!
