 Starting High School Today

Today’s the big day—my high school entrance ceremony.

Since I’m not from around here, I don’t know anyone.

Which means… yep, I’m officially starting my high school life as a loner. (Cue the tears.)

I hopped on my bike and headed toward the station.

Anemone and Freesia were zipping through the sky above me, clearly having the time of their lives.

And Viola? Still perched on my left shoulder, as always.

Is this her latest obsession or something?

At the station, I parked my bike in the lot and made my way on foot toward the ticket gates.

From here, it’s five stops by train.

Once I got off, I started walking in the direction of the school.
Looks like there are others heading to the same high school—probably my new classmates.

Unlike Tokyo, the trains out here don’t run as often, so I guess we naturally end up on the same one.

Anemone and Freesia were still soaring above me like always, and Viola, of course, hadn’t budged from my shoulder.

These three really don’t like leaving my side.

They’re always with me.

When I arrived at the school, I headed straight to the bulletin board to check the class lists.

Looks like I’ve been placed in Class 1-3.

I made my way to the classroom and saw the seating chart taped to the blackboard.
My seat? All the way in the back, third row from the hallway.

I sat down and quietly observed the other students filtering in.

Yep… just as I thought.

I’m the only loner here. (More tears.)

…Will I ever make any friends?
