Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 147

Chapter: Exploring the Dungeon’s Ninth Floor

When I woke up that morning, the first thing I did was open my window.

Immediately, Anemone stirred up a gentle breeze, using her wind magic to sweep every bit of dust out of the house.

Next came Freesia’s turn.

Once the air was clean, she cast Clean magic throughout the room, leaving it spotless and fresh.

After finishing up, I stepped outside and headed to the neighboring house.

Just like before, I opened the windows, and Anemone blew the dust outside with a flutter of her wind magic.

When I returned home a little later, I saw Misuzu riding up on her bicycle through the window.

Today, she planned to take on the slimes in the mountain dungeon behind our house—
apparently, she wanted to test out her new magic staff.

When Misuzu arrived, we headed to the dungeon together.

Amber opened the dungeon entrance for us, and, as usual, slimes were already bubbling up inside.

Misuzu pulled the staff from the pouch-shaped storage bag at her waist.

She said she wanted to try a fire spell.

Holding the staff tightly, she focused her mind—
most likely picturing the image of flames in her head.

Fireball!

The moment she shouted, a blazing orb materialized before her and shot toward the slimes.

BOOM!

With a single blast, every slime in sight was wiped out.

“…That’s some serious power…”

Bach had mentioned that spoken chants weren’t actually required to use magic,
but that beginners often found it easier to form a clear mental image by saying the spell aloud.

“Takaya! I did it—it worked on the first try!”

“Yeah, that was incredible!”

When I praised her, Misuzu’s face lit up with joy.

After we exited the dungeon, Amber sealed the entrance again.

“I’ll call Bach!” Misuzu said.

She used her telepathy skill—
and the air before us shimmered and twisted.

A gate appeared, and through it stepped Bach and Aria.

“Thank you for waiting,” they said, bowing deeply to Misuzu.

Passing through the transfer gate, we instantly arrived at the Sky Castle on the dungeon’s first floor.

“The morning meal is prepared in the dining hall,” Bach said, leading the way.

We followed behind him, with Aria walking quietly at the rear.

When we reached the hall, the knights—Rubinstein, Boonin, and the others—stood in neat formation by the entrance.

Bach opened the door for us, and we took our seats at the long table inside.

Bach and Aria carried in dishes from the kitchen, where Tchaikovsky had been cooking.

There was salad and soup, warm, freshly baked bread,
and a fluffy omelet served with boiled sausages, crispy bacon, and bright green broccoli.

Every dish was delicious.

And at the end came dessert—smooth, golden pudding.

After finishing breakfast, we took a short break.

Since Kenta and the others were focused on studying for university entrance exams,
we’d be using Bach’s teleportation gates for dungeon travel from now on.

As we rested, Bach asked politely,

“May I inquire about your plans for today?”

Misuzu replied cheerfully,

“We’re thinking of exploring the ninth floor of the dungeon!”

“Understood,” said Bach, bowing slightly. “Aria will open the transfer gate to the entrance of the ninth floor. Please let us know when you’re ready.”

After our short rest, it was finally time to begin our next adventure.

At Misuzu’s signal, Aria opened the gate,
and we stepped into the ninth floor of the dungeon.

This layer was a vast forest region.

As usual, I asked the spirits to scout ahead,
and they flew off in every direction, their tiny forms glimmering in the dim light.

By my side were Snow and Shiratama.
Bach and Aria followed behind, along with knights Dvořák and Rubinstein.

Honestly, it felt like an absurdly overpowered lineup.

But then again, there’s no such thing as too much caution in a dungeon.

According to the dungeon map, this floor was home to goblins, horned rabbits, and wolves.

After waiting a while, the spirits returned and floated above us, beginning their usual discussion.

I stood quietly, watching as they chattered and gestured in the air.

Finally, the meeting seemed to end—
and all the spirits pointed in the same direction.
