Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 123

Chapter: Report to the Branch Manager About the 7th Floor

After leaving the dungeon, we headed straight to the branch manager’s office to give our report.

Inside his office, we sat down on the sofa.

The branch manager looked at us and asked, “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

I explained everything: how we had gone to explore the seventh underground floor of the dungeon, how we flew over the desert area on Kuromitsu’s back, and how a gigantic worm suddenly burst out of the ground at us.

The manager’s expression changed instantly—shock flashing across his face.

I continued, telling him that after defeating the giant worm, we found a treasure chest filled with weapons, armor…

And then, there were Explorer Cards.

And a massive magic stone.

I reached into my pouch and placed the enormous magic stone and several Explorer Cards on the table.

As for the weapons and armor—there had been too many to carry, so I had hidden them in the sand.

The branch manager’s face had grown deadly serious.

He picked up one of the Explorer Cards and began typing the card number into the computer on his desk.

One by one.

There were seventeen cards in total.

After entering them all, he finally spoke.

“These… these are the cards of explorers who went missing.”

“Most likely, they were killed by that monster—a worm.”

“Explorer Cards are coated with mithril, a rare metal that can only be obtained in dungeons. It’s incredibly resistant to both magic and physical damage.”

“That’s probably why the cards weren’t destroyed and remained intact.”

Then he turned to us and said, his voice heavy with gratitude:

“Takuya, Misuzu… On behalf of their families, thank you.”

“Also, I need to confirm the site myself. I’ll make the preparations today—can you take me there tomorrow?”

“Yes, understood,” we both replied.

The branch manager offered to book us a room in the hotel attached to the branch, but Misuzu insisted on staying with Kuromitsu. So, we decided to spend the night in the Sky Castle instead.

After leaving the office, we headed to the second-floor cafeteria.

We bought dinner for tonight and breakfast for tomorrow.

Misuzu suggested we buy an extra meal in case something happened, and I agreed. So we ended up ordering three meals to take out.

We stored them together in Misuzu’s special pouch, which had a time-stopping function.

On top of that, we bought a few drinks from the vending machines.

Sure, the Sky Castle was stocked with instant noodles and retort curry, but the cafeteria menu offered much more variety.

Once we had everything we needed, we returned to the dungeon and made our way to the Sky Castle on the first underground floor.
