Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 90

Dig here, woof woof?

Misuzu-san and I are currently in a dungeon.

The branch manager instructed us to pass through the 5th basement floor of the dungeon and head toward the teleportation stone located on the way to the 6th basement floor.

Since there's still time left before summer vacation ends and it's not a mandatory task, we’re taking it easy.

We walk hand in hand, leisurely.

We pass through the 3rd basement floor and descend the stairs in the tunnel that connects to the 4th basement floor.

Arrived at B4F!
The area near the entrance is open, but further ahead, several narrow trails like animal paths can be seen.

“Which path should we take?” I ask Misuzu-san, who is walking beside me.

She replies, “Takaya-san, you decide. I’ll follow wherever you go.”

Hmm… should I ask the spirits to scout ahead? As I’m thinking that, Snow, who was sitting beside Misuzu-san, suddenly grows larger.

Snow’s body becomes about the size of a large dog and lets out a bark, “Woof!”

It’s rare for Snow to bark, I think, as Snow walks a bit ahead of me, then looks back.

Misuzu-san says, “It looks like Snow wants us to follow.”

So, we decide to follow Snow.

I ask the spirits to stay on alert.

This is to avoid a goblin ambush.

However, it seems the spirits aren’t sensing any monsters nearby.

Maybe it's thanks to Snow barking?
As I’m thinking about that while following Snow, we arrive at an open area.

There’s a single, extremely large tree growing in the middle.

Snow goes to the base of the large tree and starts sniffing around while slowly shifting positions.

After a while, Snow begins to dig at the base of the tree.

We quietly watch over Snow.

Then, Snow looks back at us and barks, “Woof!”

When we go to where Snow was digging, a small treasure chest was buried in the ground!

Misuzu-san says, “Amazing! A treasure chest! Good job, Snow!” and pets Snow affectionately.

In the meantime, I ask the spirits to check whether there are any traps.

Apparently, there aren’t any.

So I say to Misuzu-san, “Try opening the chest!”
She replies, “Got it!” and opens the treasure chest.

Inside was a drawstring pouch.

There were two pouches with red strings to tie them closed, and one with a blue string.

A total of three pouches.

After taking out the pouches, the treasure chest turned into particles of light and disappeared.

We decided to have the drawstring pouches appraised later at the Adventurer’s Guild and I placed them in the backpack I was carrying.

We continued following Snow.

After walking for a while, we saw a tunnel leading to the 5th basement floor.

We entered the tunnel and descended the stairs.

The 5th basement floor of the dungeon was a grassy plain.
But compared to the 1st floor, there were many taller plants.

On this floor, there are wolf-type monsters with black fur called “Wolves.”

Wolves are known to hunt in packs and are both ferocious and persistent.

I instructed the spirits to spread out — one each to the front, back, left, and right.

Just as I was about to start walking, Snow transformed into a huge form and let out a loud howl, “Awoooo! Awoooo!”

Then, remaining in his large form, Snow circled around behind us and nudged our backs with his nose.

Apparently, he wants us to walk in front of him.

So, Misuzu-san and I joined hands again and started walking ahead of Snow.
