Takuya and Misuzu Report to the Branch Chief About the Sky Castle
After leaving the dungeon, we cashed in the magic stones from the slimes we had defeated out on the grasslands.
The magic stones from the monsters defeated in the Sky Castle were left in my room in the castle to power the magical devices.
So this time, we only cashed in the slime stones. We also requested an appraisal for the equipment we obtained in the Sky Castle.
Since the appraisal would take some time, we decided to report to the branch chief in the meantime.
Thanks to being a regular, we were allowed straight into the branch chief’s office.
I reported about the Sky Castle located above the clouds on the first basement level.
As I spoke, the branch chief tapped his fingers on the desk and pressed his temples thoughtfully.
I also shared my hypothesis, and the branch chief asked me to thank the wind spirits the next time I visit the Sky Castle.
He explained that the monsters defeated by the wind spirits were called Harpies. There is a teleportation stone in the dungeon entrance, and another one in a room inside the tunnel connecting basement levels five and six.
By touching these stones, you can instantly transfer.
He mentioned that if a rookie adventurer had been attacked by the harpies from above, it would have caused severe damage.
If such an incident had occurred, the dungeon would have been closed off until the harpy threat was eliminated and the castle taken.
Also, the branch chief instructed that information about the Sky Castle must be kept secret.
Since ordinary people cannot see spirits, anyone accidentally attacked by a spirit would be helpless.
He also officially assigned me as the person in charge of the Sky Castle.
Regarding my hypothesis, several scholars and veteran adventurers share the same view, and the Adventurer’s Association is aware of it.
Just as I finished my report, I was notified that the equipment appraisal was complete.
As expected, the equipment was S-rank, the same as Misuzu’s.
It had physical and magical attack resistance, automatic size and temperature adjustment, self-repair, and was enchanted with clean magic — top-tier gear.
The dagger was designed to unleash wind blades when swung, and increased the user’s agility with wind magic.
Misuzu was very happy to hear this, and the branch chief was surprised as well.
After leaving the branch chief’s office, we headed to the cafeteria on the second floor.
Since there was still time before meeting Kenta and the rest, we decided to have soft serve ice cream together.
Misuzu chose a mix of vanilla and strawberry in a cup, eating it with a spoon.
I chose vanilla and chocolate mixed in a cup.
We took turns feeding each other spoonfuls.
Suddenly, a voice from behind said, “You two sure are lovey-dovey!”
We both jumped and turned around.
There stood Kenta and the party members, grinning widely.
Misuzu blushed deeply and looked down.
After that, Kenta gave us a ride home in his car.
