Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 79

Takuya and Misuzu Discover the Floating Castle

Our bodies slowly ascended upward.

Higher and higher we went.

And when we reached above the clouds... there it was — a castle!

Could this be called the Castle in the Sky?

Just like the clouds, it was a pure white Western-style castle.

Next to me, Misuzu exclaimed, “It’s beautiful! So wonderful!”

It truly was a magnificent and stunning castle.

Before heading towards the castle, Misuzu used a summoning spell to call Snow.

Snow emerged from the magic circle and rubbed her body affectionately against Misuzu.

For a while, Misuzu gently petted Snow.

After confirming Snow was in a good mood, we started walking toward the castle.

The ground made of clouds felt springy like rubber, making it a bit difficult to walk.

We proceeded slowly, guided by Anemone.

After walking for a while, we arrived at the castle gate.

Standing there was a lower wind spirit.

Apparently, it was acting as a gatekeeper.

Could this be a castle of wind spirits?

The wind spirit guarding the gate opened it using wind magic.

It seemed we were being welcomed.

Beside me, Misuzu said, “It’s an automatic door! Amazing!”

I explained to Misuzu, who cannot see spirits, that the wind spirit opened the door using wind magic.

Misuzu smiled and said, “Thank you, spirit!”

The spirit looked pleased as well.

We decided to proceed further.

Soon, we reached a large door leading into the castle.

Another spirit was there, opening the door with wind magic.

Misuzu thanked the spirit again.

Following Anemone, we entered the castle.

The floor was covered with a deep red carpet.

It was very soft and plush.

After walking some more, we arrived at another large door.

In front of this door was a mid-level wind spirit.

It seemed to be speaking with Anemone.

After their conversation, the mid-level wind spirit opened the large door with wind magic.

We stepped inside.

Beyond the door was a grand hall with a three-step staircase at the far end.

Perhaps it was the audience chamber?

At the raised platform sat a throne, and upon it, a high-level wind spirit was seated.

On either side of the throne stood mid-level wind spirits.

The spacious hall was filled with many wind fairies floating gently in the air.

Fairies evolve into spirits.

It seemed as though the high-level wind spirit was protecting the fairies.

Like a parent bird watching over its chicks.

Maybe the lake on the third underground floor was similar.

Inside that lake, protected by the high-level water spirit, were water fairies.

Perhaps the high-level spirit protected those fairies as well?

Did they eliminate the fish monsters in the lake to secure a safe place for the fairies?

Thinking this way, it all made sense.

In any case, this was something I had to report to the branch chief.

If I forgot, I would get scolded later.

I explained the situation to Misuzu beside me, since she couldn’t see the spirits.

To ordinary people, spirits are invisible.

So it probably looked like I was talking to empty air.

I decided to speak with the high-level spirit seated on the throne.
