The Paper User: Exiled for a ‘Trash Skill,’ Awakens True Power and Rises with Two Unique Skills - Chapter 48

Chapter : Yakumo, Kinako, and Sylphiel

Now’s the chance!

I released ten paper birds I had stored in my pocket.

The ten paper birds swirled in scattered trajectories, closing in on Daglud.

The eyes embedded in Daglud’s armor noticed the birds.

“I’m not falling for that trick again.”

Daglud leaned against a massive pillar and fired beams from his fingertips. One by one, the paper birds exploded.

He used the pillar as cover—hard to attack him from behind now.

Within seconds, all ten paper birds were gone in explosions.

At the same time, Kinako and Sylphiel charged Daglud from opposite sides.

“You weaklings!”

Daglud’s lips moved, and the golden sword that had fallen disappeared, materializing in his hand again. He grabbed it and blocked the Twin-Headed Light King’s Blade.

Then, twisting his body, he kicked Kinako in the side.

Kinako flew more than ten meters.

I rushed to Kinako’s side.

“Kinako, are you okay?”

“Y-yeah…”

Kinako snarled and stood up.

“I’m not the kind to be stopped by a kick like that. I’ll take him down soon.”

“Kinako, I have an idea.”

I explained my plan to Kinako while watching Daglud fight Sylphiel.

“Hm? But… will that really work?”

“Not guaranteed, but there’s a chance.”

“…Alright. I’m trusting your plan!”

Kinako took off running.

I ran the opposite way and released all the remaining paper birds in my pocket—seven of them circled above my head.

This is it. Now all that’s left is…

I focused and manifested a special kind of paper.

◇ ◇ ◇

Kinako charged at Daglud, who was fighting Sylphiel, extending his white claws to slash at Daglud’s legs.

“Tch! Persistent pest!”

Daglud clicked his tongue and dodged Kinako’s flurry of attacks.

“Enough! Die already!”

“You’re the one who’ll die!”

Kinako’s claws scored a wound on Daglud’s thigh.

Daglud’s face twisted for a moment.

“Sylphiel! Let’s finish this here!”

“You don’t have to tell me twice!”

Sylphiel swung the Twin-Headed Light King’s Blade, attacking Daglud.

Daglud’s lips curled as Kinako and Sylphiel continued their assault.

“Don’t get cocky!”

Daglud’s kick struck Kinako’s stomach.

Kinako clutched his abdomen and staggered back.

Daglud’s eyes gleamed sharply.

“I’ll end you first!”

Daglud thrust his golden sword repeatedly.

Kinako turned his back and started to run.

“You won’t escape this time!”

Daglud chased after Kinako, keeping Sylphiel at bay with his golden sword.

After several dozen steps, seven paper birds appeared, blocking Daglud’s path to Kinako.

“That trick again…”

Daglud backed against a nearby pillar and fired pale blue beams from his right hand fingers.

Five of the paper birds were pierced and exploded.

“No matter what you do…”

Suddenly, the pillar behind Daglud vanished in an instant.

I appeared and swung my demon-eating dagger down.

Daglud’s left arm was sliced, and blue-purple blood sprayed out.
