I Summoned a Spirit (Part 3)
I picked up the final summoning card.
Then, just like before, I said, "Summon."
This time, a black-colored orb appeared, floating gently in the air.
A dark fairy, maybe?
I hope I can form a contract with this one too.
I spoke to the black orb: "Come here."
It slowly started to drift toward me… only to float away again. Then it came closer—only to retreat again. This back-and-forth happened several times.
Just when I was wondering what to do, Anemone, the wind fairy I’d just contracted with, and Freesia, the light spirit, flew over and gently caught the black orb. Then they carefully placed it into my hands.
I looked at the black orb and said, "Will you make a contract with me? Your name is Viola!"
And then—just like before, a mechanical-sounding woman’s voice echoed in my head:
《Contract with the Dark Fairy has been established. The Dark Fairy has evolved into a Lower Dark Spirit.》
I did it! I’d successfully formed a contract with my third spirit!
Viola had black hair, black eyes, and black wings.
I’d gained a new family.
One thing I realized after forming contracts with the spirits: once the contract is made, it’s like a kind of connection—a path—forms between us. I can sort of feel what the spirits are feeling.
Also, I learned that these spirits don’t need food to survive—they absorb magical particles in the air to stay active.
Apparently, what they refer to as magical particles is similar to the chi that gathers around power spots.
It seems that my house just happens to be located at one of those spots, where the chi naturally builds up. That accumulation of energy is probably what caused the dungeon to form.
That said, it’s not as powerful as a famous spiritual hotspot, so it’s unlikely for monsters stronger than slimes to appear here.
And if it’s just slimes? My contracted spirits can take care of those easily!
Ahh… what a relief.
