Sōzoku Shita Sofu no Ie no Urayama ni Danjon ga Dekimashita - Chapter 1

I Moved.

Right now, I’m in the middle of moving into a new place.

…Well, to be accurate, the moving company is doing all the actual work.

I’m just standing around giving instructions.

These days, movers handle everything—from packing to unpacking—so it’s a huge help.

“Alright, Shiraishi-san, that’s everything.”

Finally, the move was complete.

“Thank you very much,” I said, bowing my head to the movers.

Starting today, I’m officially living on my own!

Freedom!!

I should probably text Mom and my little sister to let them know I’ve finished moving.
If I don’t, they’ll just call me later all worried—what a hassle.

After Dad passed away, we decided Mom and my sister would keep living in our place in Tokyo.
As for me, I inherited the countryside house that Dad had gotten from Grandpa before he passed.

With high school starting, I figured it was the perfect chance to move into the house I inherited and start living alone.
…But Mom wasn’t exactly thrilled about it. It took a lot of convincing to get her on board.

I finally got her to agree by saying,
“I’ll have to live on my own eventually—sooner or later, what’s the difference?”

The moving expenses and tuition for the prefectural high school I’ll be attending from April are all being covered by part of the retirement payout and life insurance we received from Dad’s old company.

The most expensive part? Renovating the house.

Especially the plumbing.

Obviously, I had the toilet upgraded to a proper bidet with a warm-water wash.
I also ripped up the tatami in the bedroom and had it replaced with flooring, then added a proper bed.

It all cost a ton... (T_T)

I don’t have the energy to cook tonight, so I’ll just settle for some instant noodles.
Tomorrow, I’ll do a proper grocery run!

Let’s do this!
