―――
On the night of August 31st, the final day of summer break.
After getting out of the bath, I headed straight back to my room on the second floor and quietly pumped my fist as I checked my Status.
The new Skills I’d added to my list—'Design' and 'Blacksmithing Technique'—were ones I’d picked up purely out of curiosity, and to be honest, they were pretty underwhelming on their own... but when used together, they turned into a truly broken combo.
Let’s start with “Design.” This Skill automatically implants blueprints into your mind for tools that can be made from the materials you currently own.
For example, if I set “iron” as the material and think “I want to make a weapon,” activating “Design” will feed me blueprints for all sorts of things: swords, spears, guns… even fighter jets and missiles.
And if you concentrate hard on a specific item you want to make, it’ll burn more MP but give you the exact blueprint and required materials for that item.
Of course, while you technically can create just about anything, the more complex something is, the more absurd the materials and MP cost. Honestly, a lot of those blueprints are pure fantasy—totally useless in practical terms.
That’s where “Blacksmithing Technique” comes in.
This Skill, in contrast, allows you to actually create whatever’s in the blueprint—as long as you have the materials and MP.
So in short, with “Design” and “Blacksmithing Technique,” plus materials and MP, I can basically make anything.
…Well, almost anything—if you ignore a certain problem.
Anyway, ever since I got these Skills, I’d spent every free moment testing them out, grinding their Skill Levels, and gaining experience through practice.
And today, at last, I finally hit Level 120.
“…Alright.”
I pulled some iron and other materials from my Item Box, used “Design” to recall a blueprint of a Pile Bunker from a certain game, and then used “Blacksmithing Technique” to try building it for real.
Up till now, I didn’t have enough MP to make it. But now, at Level 120…
The materials from the Item Box merged together, glowing with magic, forming a single object.
Before long, it had taken shape—a rugged weapon built solely to drive an internal stake into its target, its brutal form contrasted by delicate engravings across its surface, lending it a strange air of refinement. Above all, it radiated a powerful sense of weight and menace. The entire thing radiated weight.
“It’s done…”
I found myself murmuring it without thinking.
A moment later, the realization finally hit me—I’d done it. A little late, but I’d finally reached the level I’d been aiming for—and with it, a wave of joy welled up from deep inside me..
“I finally… did it.”
At the same time, the fatigue I’d built up hit me all at once. I collapsed onto my bed, took a deep breath, and tried to calm myself.
It had taken forever.
Well, okay, maybe only about two weeks since I got the Skills—but it felt like forever. That’s how much trouble those two had caused me.
(Ah, right—better store this thing and check my Skill status.)
With some effort, I got myself up, stored the newly built pile bunker in the Item Box, and then used “Appraisal” on “Blacksmithing Technique.”

Skill: Blacksmithing Technique
Effect: When the Skill Level is above a certain threshold, allows the user to craft the specified tool using materials and a blueprint at the cost of MP.
Status: Skill Level 40 / 999
―――
That “certain problem” I mentioned earlier? You can probably guess it from this Appraisal result.
Unlike most Skills, “Blacksmithing Technique” has a ridiculous max level of 999.
And as the description states, creating items requires the Skill Level to be high enough.
To give an idea:
Level 10 lets you make fantasy-style long swords (low quality),
Level 20 lets you make simple firearms,
Level 30 gives you access to complex armor designs.
That’s the kind of scaling we’re talking about.
The other issue is the MP cost.

…You get the picture.
“Design” costs 5 MP, “Appraisal” takes 10, “Item Box” used up 40, and the pile bunker I just made burned 400 MP.
That alone should give you a sense of how MP-hungry “Blacksmithing Technique” really is.
I can’t even imagine how much MP and Skill Level it would take to reproduce the Hero Suit or the airborne fortress from that last incident…
“…Sleep time.”
For now, I’ll just sleep, happy that I can finally create tools this complicated and that I’ve hit Level 120. With that in mind, I grabbed the remote and turned off the lights.
