Takuya’s Mother and Sister Arrive Part III
The next morning, I overslept.
I guess I felt so safe having my mother and sister in the house that I just couldn’t get up on time.
When I went to the kitchen, my mother had breakfast ready for me.
As I started eating, my sister, Mizuho, came in.
She said she had already finished her breakfast and sat down across from me, beginning to speak.
“Big brother… I got the Bow User job!”
…What?
I stayed silent, still trying to process what she meant.
Then, of course, my mother chimed in.
“Well… when someone tells you not to do something, you just want to do it even more, don’t you?”
…Mom! You too?!
Apparently, she had “received” the Chef job.
Mizuho went on, “I’m thinking of moving here and going to the same high school as you. Then maybe I can join your party and explore dungeons with you!”
I stared at her. Was she serious?
And of course, my mother joined in.
“If that’s the case… maybe I’ll move here too and run a traditional countryside café?”
The Tokyo house belongs to my mother and sister jointly.
It seemed they were seriously considering selling it and moving here.
After breakfast, I stepped out of the kitchen and called Misuzu to let her know the two of them might actually move.
A little while later, Misuzu and her mother arrived in a small car driven by her mother.
Were they going to persuade my mother and sister not to move?
I thought so, until Misuzu’s mother said, “Takuya, the vacant house next to yours—I know the owner. If you want to buy it, I can introduce you. They’ve been struggling to find a buyer, so it should be cheap.”
The house next door was a large, old single-story home, with a smaller two-story house next to it.
There was also a wide field and rice paddies.
Combined with our own land, it was quite spacious.
Perhaps my mother’s farming roots were stirring—her blood was calling her.
She mused, “I could run a traditional countryside café in the old house and live with my daughter in the smaller one…”
It seemed that as soon as they returned to Tokyo, they planned to consult a realtor about selling the house. They were seriously considering moving here.
Since the Tokyo house wasn’t mine, I decided to stay out of it and leave the decision to them.
I then asked Amber, the earth spirit, to seal the entrance to the back-mountain dungeon with earth magic.
Better to make sure no one wandered into the dungeon without permission.
The next day, the taxi we had reserved arrived at our house.
My mother and sister got in and left.
