 I Defeated the Slime


I woke up in the next morning and headed out to check on the dungeon.


Approaching slowly, I watched from a distance.


The slimes were still bouncing and wobbling around just like yesterday. There were ten of them near the front and one more in the back on a slightly elevated platform.


"Whew, glad they didn’t multiply..." I let out a relieved sigh without thinking.


For now, I finished my check, watered the garden, and then had breakfast.


After that, I was browsing online when my order arrived—dry ice!


Wearing gloves on both hands, I picked up the box with the dry ice and headed to the dungeon entrance.

With it pinned in place from three sides—both legs and my left hand—I pressed the dry ice in my right hand against the slime.


The moment I did, the slime’s outer membrane ruptured, and a jelly-like substance inside slowly oozed downward, forming a small puddle on the floor.


As I kept watching, the puddle of slime was enveloped in a soft golden glow and then vanished.


Oh— I did it! I actually defend a slime!


I was so happy I instinctively threw a fist into the air in a little victory pose.


Left behind where the slime had vanished was a small pale blue gem, about the size of a pea.

I picked it up and slipped it into my pocket.

It took a little longer than the ten I’d already defeated, but eventually, I succeeded in taking down the last slime as well!

"What… are these?" I murmured, staring at the three cards in my hand.
