Tenma followed him to the counter, where a slightly chubby man sat reading something. His facial features bore a resemblance to Alf’s, though a bit rounder.

Alf approached him and spoke.

“Uncle, I need to settle our tab and introduce someone to you.”

“Huh? That’s rare—you introducing someone. Tch. Not a girl, huh? You’re not getting any younger, Alf. At least bring a fiancée around for once. So, who’s this?”

After throwing a jab at Alf, the man gave Tenma a glance—then looked again, more properly this time.

“I’m Tenma. Pleased to meet you.”

“Name’s Luis. I’m this rascal’s guardian. Good to meet ya.”

“Uncle, can you issue a card for this guy too?”

“Yeah, sure. Don’t lose it—and don’t go selling it off either.”

From beneath the counter, Luis pulled out a card and handed it to Tenma. The card read:

“Alf, what time should I wake you guys up tomorrow?”

“Alright, then. Sleep well. And Alf, start waking yourself up already. You’ve got a junior now, remember?”

“Good night.”

Tenma followed Alf up the stairs. At the second floor, they split off to their own rooms. Once inside, Tenma quickly changed into his sleepwear and collapsed onto the bed.
